Profile: Karen McAlister

Karen
has spent most of her professional life working with children
and books. She worked in both kindergartens and public libraries
before spending a number of years as a full-time parent to her
own two children (now 16 and 13). She joined the staff of Greenwood
Park in 2009 and has thoroughly enjoyed returning to the wonderful
world of kindergarten children and their families. She loves
watching the way the children grow and learn throughout the
year in everything they do, and they never cease to amaze her
with their creativity and the 4-5 year old’s unique worldview.
As well as assisting Naomi with the Seals and Jellyfish groups,
she looks after the kinder’s book collection and the children’s
lending library. She also has a passion for music, and her guitar
makes the occasional appearance in the kinder room!
